The basic way to prevent MRSA is by washing hand. Wash your hand using soap and warm running water. Keep your finger pointing down while washing hands and rub hands thoroughly for about 20-25 seconds.
Wash all hand surfaces such :
• Backs of hands
• Wrists
• Between fingers
• Tips of fingers
• Thumbs
• Under fingernails
• Dry vigorously with toilet paper or clean cloth towel.
• Turn the faucet off with towel / paper and open door with tower / paper.
How it works will work ? The soap suspends the dirt and soils, while the friction motion helps pull dirt and greasy or oily soils free from the skin. Warm running water washes away suspended dirt and soils that trap germs. Final friction step of wiping hands removes more germs.
To clean your hands with a alcohol based handrub
Apply a appropriate amount (dime size) of handrub gel to the palm of one hand or use a alcohol- based handrub wipe. Rub hands together covering all surfaces of hands and fingers until handrub is absorbed and dry. This will quickly kill microorganisms and also reduce bacterial counts on hands
Wash your hands with soap and warm water when your hands are dirty or visibly soiled. If soap and water is not available around you, use alcohol based handrub (wipes or gel). Food handlers in hotel, schools, restaurants, delis and grocery stores must wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water before applying any hand sanitizers.
