Symptoms of MRSA Infection

Usually starts off as skin infection, the symptoms of MRSA infections are variable. Initial presentation of MRSA is small red pimples-like bumps, spider bites, or it can be also boils. Up to 75 % MRSA infection are localized to skin, and can be treated effectively. But left untreated, MRSA can spread rapidly and can affect vital organs and lead to widespread infection, toxic shock syndrome and Necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating disease) with mortality rates about 73 % if left untreated. Without surgery and antibiotics, the infection will eventually lead to death.
Intial MRSA Symptomps , which most infection are skin and soft tissue infection :
- Infection in hair follicles (boils)
- Pocket of pus collected, swollen and red underneath the skin (abscesses)
- Large abscesses with pus draining and has several openings (carbuncles)
- Infection in the eyelid gland (sty)
- Pus in blisters on the skin that has a honey colored crust (impetigo)
In serious case of MRSA, infection such as pneumonia (caused by infection the lungs) or bacteremia (an infection through blood stream) also appear. Symptoms of these infection include, fatigue, shortness of breath, fever, chest pain and sever headache.
